Islam is the biggest, and most practiced religion in Sudan. 97% of the country are Muslims. African Traditional Religion is also a practiced religion, with 1.5% of Sudan. Then also, Christianity, is a very small part of Sudan, mainly starting with missionaries, also, with 1.5% of Sudan.
Membership in the Muslim community is attained by a conscious act or willful submission summarized in the profession of faith, “There is no God but God, and Mohammed is his Prophet”. Islam is not only a religion but a way of life; its teachings provide a detailed guide to law, statecraft and social interaction of all kinds.
